Ken Walker

Ken Walker was born into the northwestern New Jersey suburbs in 1978. He spent the days of his youth riding a bicycle past miles of farmland and cul-de-sacs and his nights hacking computers.

Having been raised a Catholic, he began to explore his faith seriously in high school, attending an evangelical church in a nearby town. It was in the church that he was struck by the deep sincerity of the mentors who took an interest in his life. The relationships there mattered.

It was in that same church that Ken met Sarah. They were married in 2002 after a three-year long distance relationship. One year later, Ken and Sarah found a place for their faith to flourish at the Village Church. They were drawn eastward to Newark by their love for the church in New York, and the prospect urban renewal in their home state.

Ken completed his undergraduate work in computer science at Rutgers University in Newark in 2004. He works in technology risk management, bringing order amidst the chaos of a major financial firm in Tribeca. He covers local news and tells the stories of people and organizations that are making an impact in his hometown at dailynewarker.com.

Ken and Sarah (and their daughter Dahlia) live at the last stop on the PATH train in Newark, NJ.
