Women before Work (WbW) is one way the Village Church builds community among New York City women. Our mission statement is to meet together as professionals and students to learn, from the Bible and each other, how to navigate city life. We challenge and encourage one another to live as wise urban women: confident, graceful and forgiven in Christ.

Two groups meet once a week on Tuesday or Thursday from 7:00-8:30 AM for fellowship, bible study and prayer. Groups are held in coffee shops in convenient locations in Manhattan. Through meeting together, we challenge each other to look at scripture and see how it applies to our lives in New York City. We talk about engaging culture with the love of Christ. We share our faith-struggles and hold each other accountable. By connecting with other thoughtful Christian ladies, we grow deeper in faith and begin to serve our community. A student said about our group, “I had such a wonderful time…I feel so enriched after it”. One young professional said, “I like our group because people are honest about their struggles and confusions. No one is trying to impress anyone else.” It is true belonging because it is held together by the Holy Spirit.
