Welcome to the Village Church Marriage Prep!
You do not need to be Presbyterian or Christian for us to marry you. The Reverend (also called “Pastor”) requires meeting a couple of times to get to know you. This helps make the wedding more personal. The meetings also help verify where your relationship is going. This helps the pastor to marry you in good conscience, confident before God that he is consecrating a lasting relationship.
The pastor is desirous of assisting you however you wish and will work with your ceremony plans. His experience in weddings may be helpful. For example, you may use prescribed vows or write your own. You may request a short homily or choose to forego it. The service may include prayer or not. He does need to pronounce you husband and wife “in the sight of God,” but most other points are negotiable.
To set up a first appointment with the pastor, contact Sarah at: sarah@villagechurchnyc.com or (212) 725-2564. Congratulations on getting this far in love! Wherever you walk down the aisle, or whatever aisle you walk down, may God bless you for taking that step.
