I knew what to tell you
but I didn't know quite,
because day pours out speech
while night to night reveals
knowledge three degrees
past right.
—"Psalm 19:2", Joe Haferbecker
About Jowie Linn:
Jowie's voice carries a hard emotional delivery occasionally tinged with anger, longing, and regret, yet melody is championed in pensive moments that reveal both the songwriter's craft and the sensitivity that collar's his cynicism.
About Christian Frederickson:
Juilliard-trained violist Christian Frederickson has performed all over the world, as a solo recitalist and as a member of the instrumental band Rachel's. A versatile musician, he was a member of the Louisville String Quartet for 4 seasons, in addition to composing, arranging and performing music for six Rachel's albums. His performances have been featured on NPR's "Weekend Edition", the BBC, WNYC, and the national radio networks of Italy, Belgium, and South Korea. He has also recorded with the bands Mission of Burma, shannonwright, Shipping News, and The For Carnation.
The Bowery Poetry Club is located at 308 Bowery, between Houston & Bleecker and across the street from CBGBs. Take either the F train to Second Ave or the 6 train to Bleecker. More detailed directions are available here.
